Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) Requirement for Djibouti Shipments |
Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority have announced that effective 15th June 2023, it is mandatory to show ECTN number on Bill of Lading for imports to all Djibouti ports. Exporters must obtain an ECTN from Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority approved platform at www.ctndjibouti.com when loading containers destined for all Djibouti ports. The ECTN document should be obtained from the port of loading by the shipper, exporter, booking party or freight forwarder. The ECTN number must be written on the bill of lading. The following documents are required in order to obtain an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN): Please note the ECTN reference number and information about the system can ONLY be obtained from the official website www.ctndjibouti.com. This new requirement is being implemented for the safety and security of the port facilities in Djibouti. Please note that this is a compulsory requirement, and failure to comply could lead to penalties or delay in clearing cargo. |
