Seaports
There are 3 main operating international deep-water seaports in Pakistan as follows:

1) Karachi Port

The Port of Karachi is one of South Asia's largest and busiest deep-water seaports, handling about 60% of the nation's cargo located in Karachi. The Karachi Port lies on a strategic point along the 600 miles long coastline, which stretches from the straits of Hormuz to the border with India. It has an ideal location and well-developed connections with Afghanistan, Central Asia and Western China.

Karachi Port has mainly two wharves; East Wharf with seventeen vessel berths, West Wharf with thirteen vessel berths and three liquid cargo berths. The port also has three Private container terminal named as

• Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT)
• Karachi Gateway Terminal (KGTL)
• South East Asia Container Terminal (SAPT)

Karachi International Container Terminal (Hutchison Ports):

Hutchison Ports KICT is Pakistan's leading container terminal. Located in the Port of Karachi west of the Indus Delta on the Arabian Sea, Hutchison Ports KICT has been in operation since 1998. It has three berths equipped with modern container-handling facilities.

Karachi Gateway Terminal Pvt Ltd (previously known as PICT - East Wharf):

KGTL is the new joint venture between AD Port Group and Kaheel Terminal that will manage, operate and develop container berths 6-10 at East Wharf Karachi Port. KGTL has been established via a 50-years concession agreement between AD Port Group and Karachi Port Trust with the aim of strengthening container capacity and enhancing efficiency to prompt global trade. It has five berths equipped with modern container-handling facilities.

South Asia International Container Terminal (East Wharf - Hutchison Ports):

SAPT / Hutchison Ports Pakistan is the country's first deep-water container terminal, designed to accommodate post-panamax ships. The Port situated at the Keamari Groyne basin and provides the most convenient access to large vessels entering Karachi. It has four berths equipped with modern container-handling facilities.

2) Port Qasim

Port Qasim is located in Karachi's phitti creek of Indus delta region. The port started operation in 1980 and presently has 18 berths with annual handling capacity of 89 millions tons. All commodities are being handled in the port at state-of-the-art terminals. It is the energy hub and only LNG Port of Pakistan.

Port Qasim is well connected to hinterland through all modes of transportation. It connects directly to the national highway, motorway network leading to Afghanistan, CARs and the CPEC Routes. The Port also connected to the National Railway network by a 14 km Railway Line and dedicated railway station. Port operations run 24/7. Port Qasim is truly "Gateway to National Prosperity".

DP World Karachi (Qasim International Container Terminal - QICT)

Qasim International Container Terminal Ltd. ("QICT") operates a container terminal at Port Qasim Authority approximately 50 km southeast of Karachi Pakistan. Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT) is Pakistan's Gateway to the World. The Muhammad Bin Qasim Port Project is the one of the largest port privatization projects in Pakistan and is a testament to the Government's commitment to providing the international trade community with an excellent port facility supported by the latest technologies and the best efficiency. Today the capacity of the Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 is 1.38 million TEUs. It has four berths equipped with modern container-handling facilities.

3) Gwadar Port

Gwadar Port is emerging as the third port of Pakistan. Gwadar borders on Arabian Sea and lies in the Baluchistan Province. Gwadar Port is located at the mouth of Persian Gulf and outside the Straits of Hormuz. It is near to the key shipping routes used by the mainline vessels in the region with connections to Africa, Asia and Europe and enjoys high commercial and strategic significance.

Gwadar Port will soon become gateway port for Pakistan and the region and an excellent maritime hub. Gwadar Port "the first deep sea port in the country" is a complement to Karachi Port and Port Qasim to stimulate economic growth of Pakistan and Baluchistan. On 31 May 2021, Gwadar Port became operational, along with the availability of online booking for the delivery of goods.

Gwadar has multiple mega projects underway out of which several megaprojects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are completed and more are lined up for future developments.

NICHE TRADE LANES

Pakistan to Afghanistan: We have service from Pakistan to Afghanistan: ATT (Afghanistan Transit Trade) United Nation cargo / commercial & non-commercial shipments.

Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have set up a trade-working group, by leveraging their strengths and resources, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan can tap into new markets and expand their economies. It validates "strategic vision" of the leadership of Uzbekistan and Pakistan, pertaining to greater regional connectivity. It is a trilateral working group & manage/arrange transit ONLY FCL containers / shipment to Uzbekistan via Afghanistan. The process flow will be as follows:

• Import Cargo from Karachi to Peshawar.
• After arrival at Peshawar/Torkham border, cross stuff the goods into Afghani trucks.
• Torkham onwards Afghani truck moves till Hairatan Dry Port/border.
• At Hairatan again cross stuffing from Afghani trucks to Uzbek Trucks.
• Uzbek trucks goes till final consignee destinations.

Below trucking routing and distance with transit time approx. 15 to 18 days from Karachi to Tashkent (In normal conditions.)

IT CAPABILITIES THROUGH THE WEB PAGE

Our online system "Freight Management System" (FMS) helps to track and trace the shipment online. Our website seeks to provide the right tools to offer our customers more convenient LCL solutions.

The Track and Trace system allows full traceability of import/export operations, from origin to destination, and ensures the safe delivery of your cargo. Customers will be able to access pictures of their cargo, and able to inform if the end user has removed the goods from the destination warehouse.

Globelink Tianjin at the 2024 Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo

Globelink Tianjin participated in the 2024 Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo from 11- 13 July at the Tianjin National Convention and Exhibition Center.
